About Us
Tap Social is a craft brewery and hospitality social enterprise based in Oxfordshire. We create training and employment opportunities for ex-offenders by brewing criminally good beer and creating exciting and welcoming community spaces and hospitality venues. We are now seeking to build a front of house and kitchen team at our latest venture, The White House - a cafe, bar and kitchen on Abingdon Road.
The White House will offer an ‘all day dining’ experience with a brunch style menu during the week, a larger brunch offering at the weekend and a small plates, casual dining experience in the evenings. The menu will be modern, seasonal and accessible to the Oxford community it serves. The building will also operate two bars serving fresh coffee, craft beer, wine and cocktails to a seating capacity of 80 (indoors) and 85 (outdoors)
While construction work commenced on the building in the Summer of 2020 we decided to park a horse box outside the front of the building. It soon became established as a hotspot (and a much loved pit stop for lockdown home-workers) for coffee and freshly baked treats as we began to forge a good relationship with the local community and build excitement for the launch of the all new White House.
Role Description
We are looking for an enthusiastic, hard working and reliable person to join us as a skilled Barista who is also able to turn themselves to serving food and drink in other stations across the front of house. A passion for the delivery of fantastic, fresh and delicious coffee as well as the reliability to offer a warm welcome and enjoyable experience for customers.
Suitable candidates should have at least 1 year of experience in a similar role and must have a proactive and friendly nature. A demonstrable interest in speciality coffee, a willingness to learn and ability to work calmly under pressure are essential.
Main Responsibilities
- Offer a welcoming service across food & drink stations throughout the building
- Retain information about the menus and be able to talk confidently about them with customers
- Treat all customers in a helpful and friendly manner and assist them with their requests
