For all those that want to learn more about the brewing process and the joys of craft beer, whether you’re a complete beginner or you’ve dabbled in a bit of home-brewing before, Tap Social Brew School is for you.
We guide you step by step through the process using a state of the art Speidel Braumeister 20L brewing system. Get hands on experience of brewing and walk away with at least 2 cases of your very own delicious homebrew. The class consists of a full day brewing lesson, when you’ll brew a batch of your own beer, followed by a 2 hour bottling session a couple of weeks later. For the beginner classes you can choose from our recipes for an American Pale Ale, an English IPA or a Stout. Watch this space for more advanced classes / drop-in sessions for experienced brewers, coming later in 2020.
Prices include a 6 hour brew lesson and brew day, all ingredients and brewing equipment, bottles and bottling equipment for the 2 hour bottling day, a pint of your choice in our Tap Room for each member of your brew-crew, and of course a couple of cases of your prize brew!
How It Works
Sign up alone, in pairs or bring a group. All brew classes are held at the taproom/brewery in Botley. A perfect Christmas present for your friends or family, or just treat yourself! Buy your session(s) now, receive an immediate voucher by email and you or the lucky recipient can book the Saturday sessions to suit you at your convenience.
All ingredients and equipment are supplied by Tap Social, simply show up and get ready to learn from the best and brew your own beer! Choose from our Stout, American Pale Ale or English IPA recipes and get ready to produce 20L of the finest small batch craft beer. Your brew should be completed and into the fermentation room by 4pm or so on the day, leaving you free to hang out with us in the taproom and sample some of our brews whilst you’re waiting for the magic to happen with your own!
The waiting game, also known as fermentation. Luckily this only takes a couple of weeks in a temperature controlled environment and then your brew can get put into bottles!
After the fermentation process is complete, it’s time to put it into bottles. A week or two from your initial brew class we welcome you back for a few hours to complete the final step so you can take your beer home. Each 20L kit will produce at least 2 cases of 24 330ml bottles, perhaps more if you are an efficient brewer! You can now take your brew home to condition.
Bottoms up! After secondary fermentation is complete you are ready to enjoy the fruits of your labour and share with your friends!
