Tap Social Hiring Policy
Tap Social is a social enterprise which exists to provide employment opportunities to those who need them most, including specifically prisoners and prison leavers, in order to help rebuild lives after contact with the justice system and reduce reoffending (and so reduce the number of future victims of crime). Our ambition is for a minimum of 30% of our workforce from time to time to be made up of people with lived experience of the justice system (it is often higher than this). We regularly publish impact reporting data publicly on our progress against these goals. To help us to achieve these aims, our hiring policy is to strive to make sure all appropriate work opportunities within the business are advertised to prisoners, prison-leavers and others with unspent criminal convictions and that where, during the hiring process, we are faced with 2 candidates equally qualified for a role, and where it is consistent with business need to do so, we will give preferential treatment to candidates with lived experience of the justice system, if to do so will help us to achieve our wider impact goals.
Tap Social is an equal opportunities employer and is firmly committed to inclusive recruitment. All applications will be considered for employment without attention to age, disability, gender/gender reassignment, marriage/civil partnership, pregnancy/maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation.
